ASEAN Plus Three (10+3) Forum on Industrial Chain and Supply Chain Cooperation and the Taihu East Asian Entrepreneurs Forum held in Suzhou

On July 29th, ASEAN Plus Three (10+3) Forum on Industrial Chain and Supply Chain Cooperation and the Taihu East Asian Entrepreneurs Forum was held in Suzhou. The forum was co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of China and Jiangsu Provincial Government and organized by the provincial Department of Commerce, the provincial Foreign Affairs Office, Suzhou Municipal Government and our council. Vice-Premier Hu Chunhua delivered a video speech. 

Hu said the international situation has been complex and the security and stability of global industrial and supply chains are facing severe tests.

It is very important for China, Japan, the ROK and ASEAN to strengthen opening up and cooperation and ensure the smooth operation of industrial and supply chains in order to improve risk-prevention capabilities and promote the long-term prosperity in the region, he said.

China is willing to work with all parties to improve the level of regional free trade zone building, focus on enhancing the overall strength of the regional industrial chain, continue to promote the supporting role of connectivity, and strive to foster new momentum for cooperation, he said.

Hu also expressed the wish that entrepreneurs from all over the world will invest in China, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and carry out more secure, stable and higher-level cooperation of industrial and supply chains.

Jiangsu Governor Xu Kunlin said the economic hub will further expand opening-up in an all-around way and better serve the process of East Asian regional economic integration.

He said the important opportunity of RCEP's effective implementation should be seized, and that parties should strengthen communication and exchanges in the economic and trade fields, deepen cooperation in industrial and supply chains and jointly build a platform for cooperation to promote the region's common prosperity.

Mr. Li Fei, Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Commerce of China, Dr. Aun Pornmoniroth, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of Cambodia, Mr. Jurin Laksanawisit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce of Thailand, Mr. Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment Affairs of Indonesia, Mr. Dato’ Sri Mustapa bin Mohamed, Minister in Prime Minister’s Department (Economy) of Malaysia, Mr. Gan Kim Yong, Minister of Trade and Industry of Singapore, Mr. Dukgeun Ahn, Minister for Trade, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea (ROK), Mr. Dato Lim Jock Hoi, Secretary-General of ASEAN, Mr. Zhang Xiangchen, Deputy Director-General of the World Trade Organization and other domestic and foreign guests delivered speeches on the forum.

Chairman Yin Jianqing and Vice Chairman Cong Sufeng of our counci attended the supporting activities and met with Yoon Doson, Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce in China.
