On May 10th, our council and AHK Greater China held a video conference to carry out in-depth exchanges and discussions focusing on promoting economic and trade exchanges and deepening pragmatic cooperation with online participants in Nanjing, Shanghai, Suzhou, and Taicang. Vice Chairman Cong Sufeng of our council and Executive Director Maximilian Butek of the German Chamber of Commerce in China in Shanghai addressed the conference. Xu Jinbo of AHK Greater China, Chairman Xu Lianquan of CCPIT Suzhou, Deputy Mayor Zhang Zhan of Taicang City and representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, Business Promotion Bureau, high-tech zone and German-invested companies made their speeches. Over thirty representatives attended the conference.

AHK Greater China consists of three branches, namely the Delegation of German Industry & Commerce, the German Chamber of Commerce in China and German Industry & Commerce. It is the official foreign economic and trade cooperation promotion agency of Germany, representing and assisting German enterprises to develop in China.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Germany. Despite the impact of the epidemic, our council and AHK Greater China discussed online measures to promote investment and economic cooperation between Jiangsu and Germany, together with the CCPIT Suzhou, Taicang City and related enterprises to promote mutual investment between Jiangsu and Germany.
