On December 14th, our council held the “Jiangsu-Hong Kong Free Trade Opportunity Sharing Seminar” with Hong Kong Trade Development Council. Vice Chairman Cong Sufeng of our council and Director Vicki She of HKTDC, Jiangsu Office attended and addressed the seminar.

The seminar has set up four sub-venues in Hong Kong, Nanjing, Suzhou, and Lianyungang. The responsible persons and representatives of HKTDC, free trade zones, CCPIT sub-councils, and industrial parks of Nanjing, Suzhou, and Lianyungang attended online and offline.

In Cong’s speech, he said that Jiangsu and Hong Kong had kept a sound cooperative relationship for years. Jiangsu province will work with Hong Kong in strengthening the communication and exchange between the two sides in the construction of free trade ports (zones), trade and investment facilitation, and development of key industries to better promote the industrial chain stabilization and the transformation and upgrading of service industries. The fundamental foundation of CCPIT Jiangsu is serving Chinese and foreign enterprises. Our council will strengthen our service network for businesses, expand its international circle of friends, and enhance exchanges and cooperation with Hong Kong trade and investment promotion agencies to serve the mutually beneficial and integrated development of economic and trade cooperation between Jiangsu and Hong Kong.

The attending representatives also delivered speeches to help Jiangsu Pilot Free Trade Zone build a pioneering zone for developing an open economy, and a model for a real economy’s innovative development, industrial transformation and upgrading.
